Lawrence Christian School began as a ministry of the Lawrence Christian Church in 1973. Our minister, Don Wilmoth, dreamed of a school where students would be equipped for academic excellence along with Christian teaching and training.
In 1974, God called Don home at the age of thirty-six. It was a devastating shock to a congregation of around six hundred. The congregation eventually merged with a sister congregation, and the five members of the school board purchased the five-acre campus and facility.
God has been faithful. The school is a debt-free, non-profit organization that receives no outside financial help operating on tuition.
Today, the school provides a broad spectrum of development for students with an excellent academic curriculum and a strong spiritual emphasis for pre-school to middle school.
The school is governed by a Board of Directors. Along with our strong Christian heritage and proven curriculum, our leadership has remained consistent and dedicated. Special emphasis is placed on character building, social development, spiritual and academic growth.
It is our goal to maintain a safe and effective learning environment. Continual upgrading has provided additional classrooms, a computer lab, and a gymnasium. Modern playground equipment continues to be added to enhance the physical development of our students.
